I had a mixed experience at this hotel. The rooms were spacious and clean with a gigantic bed, but the creaky floorboards and overall shabby condition were disappointments. The service was on the most part really helpful, especially the older staff members, but there were some inconsistencies. The location was great, although I felt I paid a premium for it. The dining experience ranged from poor to very good, with several options available. Overall, the facilities were decent, but there were some maintenance issues that stood out.

5.6/10

I had a mix of experiences at the hotel. On the bright side, I scored an upgrade from a single to a newly refurbished luxury double room with a king-size bed and a landmark view, which was incredible. Unfortunately, the room was shabby and desperately needed renovation; light bulbs needed replacing, the shower wasn't functioning properly, and there was mold in the bathroom. The whole room felt outdated and nothing like the advertised photos.

Rooms
5.0
The room I initially received was disappointing - shabby, dated, and in dire need of refurbishment. The upgraded room was a positive surprise with its luxury features.
Service
5.0
The service left much to be desired. The staff seemed unapologetic and unhelpful at times, which was disappointing.
Location
7.0
The location was central to the town of Thame, a beautiful small historic market town with a great atmosphere. However, the value for money in this area could have been better as there were limitations.
Dining
6.0
The dining experience was a bit inconsistent; while breakfast was cooked to order and enjoyable, other meals did not meet expectations in terms of quality for the price paid.
Facilities
6.0
The hotel offered a nice range of facilities such as room service, car hire, and tours/ticket assistance, but these did not fully make up for the overall experience.

The hotel offers a funky yet tasteful blend of old and new decor, great for families of four with lovely garden views. However, some maintenance issues like water stains and mould were noticeable. The kippers for breakfast were a delightful touch, adding to the overall charm of the rooms.

Rooms

The rooms are nicely done out, featuring a monster bed, 2 TVs, and a fantastic bathroom.

The service seemed a little stressed at times but remembering us from last year was a nice touch.
Location

Dining
7.0
The dining experience was a mix of surprises. While the extensive menu and fresh cooking were delightful, the lack of sufficient staff led to chaotic service at times.
Facilities
8.0
The hotel offered various amenities like room service, car hire, welcome drink, and pet amenities.
